Background

Why + Where, When & What

Overview

As a young artist & writer, I set out to make the world a better place (as one does)…I ended up finding a startling overlap between human-centered design and engineering functions.

When you combine empathy, strategy, bottom-up thinking and problem solving, it quickly becomes apparent that Design and Engineering have more in common than sets them apart.

Professional Experience

Ford Motor Company

Built Ford Pro’s program-management practice from the ground up — running org-wide needs and process discovery, then designing, staffing, and standing up a senior program-management team across UX and digital product. Established working relationships with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Support, HR, and Legal, and led design-ops efficiency work, including integrating AI and agentic workflows into the team’s day-to-day practice.

The Predictive Index

Senior product designer on a behavioral-science HR platform, leading UX research, design, and writing for platform features and hiring-focused tools. Shipped the Interview Builder, Job Ad Optimizer, and Share Panel — features that turn a candidate’s behavioral data into job-specific interviews and job ads, helping hiring teams cut guesswork and repetitive screening.

Quest Software

Senior UX designer for enterprise IT security and systems-management software. Designed user- and task-management interfaces for complex administrative products, partnering with product and engineering to bring clarity to dense, permission-heavy workflows.

Siemens Healthineers

Lead UX designer and usability engineer for Molecular Imaging — spanning SPECT and PET image acquisition, diagnostic image-analysis applications, and internal tools for service engineers. Created and implemented SHUI, the group’s enterprise design system, and ran research and usability testing with clinicians. Collaborated with international software, hardware, and engineering teams; recruited UX talent at home and abroad and launched the group’s UX internship program.

PerfectServe

Led UX and visual design for a healthcare B2B platform built around secure clinical messaging. Ran hands-on research — on-site and remote interviews and usability testing with physicians, nurses, and hospital administrators — and partnered with agile teams across web, mobile, and legacy hospital paging systems. Stood up and grew the company’s UX practice.

Scripps Networks Interactive

Led the prioritization and implementation of responsive websites and web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks; ensured senior developers had the resources and support needed to maintain and optimize existing applications; led code reviews, pushed for better team documentation habits and standards, and mentored junior developers in front-end best practices. Partnered with fellow engineering management to plan and execute development of RESTful APIs and microservices.

Scripps Networks Interactive

Managed enterprise ad operations across Scripps Networks’ portfolio of digital properties — overseeing campaign trafficking, ad delivery, and inventory on high-traffic lifestyle sites. Worked across sales, engineering, and editorial to keep monetization running smoothly at scale.

Digital Media One

Designed and built websites end to end for a range of clients — handling visual design, front-end development, and content production as a small-team generalist.

Reynolds Web Solutions

Art-directed and managed web design for client projects, setting visual direction and overseeing design production. An early move into design leadership — balancing hands-on craft with directing the work of others.
